A membership for RVers that provides unique RV camping at over 1900 wineries, breweries, distilleries, farms, museums, and more!
Harvest Hosts is a consumer subscription business that connects RVers to overnight stays at locations like wineries, breweries, golf courses, and alpaca farms for an annual membership fee.
The business was originally founded in 2010 by the Greenes, a couple who had recently traveled to Europe and discovered the idea of agritourism, where travelers are invited to stay overnight at local businesses in exchange for a purchase. Upon returning home, the two founded Harvest Hosts to bring the opportunity to American RVers and businesses alike. Over eight years, the Greenes grew the Harvest Hosts community to about 10,000 members and 600 hosts.
In 2018, Joel Holland, founder and former CEO of Storyblocks, traveled the country in an RV with his wife. During the trip, Joel discovered Harvest Hosts, fell in love with the community, and eventually convinced the Greenes to sell him the business. Over the next two years, Joel grew the community from 10,000 to over 100,000 members and from 600 to over 1,800 hosts.
The program resonates exceptionally well for both its hosts and members, connecting RVers to unique campsites and experiences and bringing in additional revenue for local business. In 2020 alone, Harvest Hosts’ members spent $25M with its hosts, allowing some to survive the COVID lockdowns who would not have otherwise. Even more, Harvest Hosts connects people from across North America to share a drink, a tour, or a round of golf.
Stripes was chosen as the preferred partner in a competitive process because of our enthusiasm for the market and product, our ability to develop a relationship and conduct research early, and our brand and team building resources. We are thrilled to partner with Joel and the rest of the Harvest Hosts team to continue to inspire connection, facilitate adventure, support local business, and build the future of RV travel.
