Founded in 2011, Sift was created to help mid-market and enterprise companies more effectively prevent fraud while simultaneously improving their digital consumer experience. While existing vendors in the industry relied on highly archaic and reactive rules-based solutions, Sift made an early commitment to leverage machine learning to proactively identify suspicious user behavior and flag bad actors and potentially fraudulent transactions in real time. Today, the company provides Digital Trust & Safety through a full suite of products to protect businesses from payment fraud, account takeover, fake accounts, and abusive user-generated content. Some of the largest digital companies in the world trust Sift to help deliver outstanding customer experiences, while preventing fraud and abuse. With sophisticated technology, a global community of fraud-fighters, and a commitment to long term partnership, Sift helps its customers gain competitive advantage in their respective markets.

Stripes got to know CEO and Co-founder Jason Tan beginning in 2016, and over the course of the next two years, became increasingly impressed by the company’s rapid growth and commitment to product innovation. When Jason decided to raise a growth financing in 2018, Stripes was chosen due to our team’s past work at the intersection of software and data services and experience helping scale growth businesses with our recruiting and business development capabilities. We are thrilled to partner with the Sift team as they continue to help bring trust and safety to the digital world.
