John Kinzer

Before joining Stripes, John served as Chief Financial Officer of HubSpot, the inbound marketing and sales SaaS company. There he led a successful IPO in 2014 and saw the company grow from $80 million to $500 million of Annual Recurring Revenue and to over a $6 billion market cap.

Prior to HubSpot, John served as CFO for Blackboard, Inc., the leading SaaS education company. He played a key role in taking Blackboard public in 2004 and reaching over $500 million in revenue before being acquired by a private equity firm.

Earlier in his career, John held leadership roles at MCI and Arthur Andersen, LLP. As an alumnus of Virginia Tech, he is a passionate supporter of the school and serves as Chairman of the Board of the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs. He currently also serves as a board member at OneStream and Aircall.

John lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife, three daughters, and two dogs, Abby and Bandit. He loves skiing, water sports, and cycling. His proudest cycling moment was completing the 160-mile Pan Mass Challenge charity ride. An avid traveler, John has visited 40 countries, every continent but Antartica, and all 50 states (North Dakota being the final one).
