Prior to Anaplan, Paul served as Global Vice President of Ariba and built the field organization for sales, implementation, service, alliances, and channels, ultimately leading to an acquisition for approximately $5 billion in 2012. Earlier in his career, Paul served as Executive Vice President of Global Accounts at SAP, helping it rise to a global leader in enterprise software. His group was responsible for over 85 percent of revenue in the Americas and a field organization of 1,000+ people.
Currently, Paul is Chairman of the Board at R3, an enterprise blockchain technology company. He was previously an independent director at Scout RFP, a sourcing and procurement software company that was acquired by Workday (NASDAQ: WDAY).
The author of “Selling the Cloud: A Playbook for Success in Cloud Software and Enterprise Sales,” Paul interviewed 25+ year sales veterans who worked at enterprise-level software companies like Salesforce, Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, Zoom, SAP, and DocuSign. The book charts their lessons learned to help modern salespeople thrive.
Paul lives in downtown Philadelphia (which he affectionately refers to as the ”6th Borough”) with his wife Nicole and their four children. When he is not selling software, you can find him in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he enjoys sport fishing, golfing, and cooking.
